On the 6th and 7th of This month I had the pleasure of performing at The Love Trails festival at Woebley Castle (Gower). Although it did not start out well due to the weather it quickly opened up to some lovely sunny skies with an incredible view. As my first set was so late and the gates closed at 12am I decided to camp overnight which was both an enjoyable and bad experience at the same time as it was fun staying in a tent and setting it up etc but it was also very cold in the middle of the night and there were many, many bugs in the tent. Despite the sleeping arrangements it was a very exciting and fun experience as I got to play a campfire set in a tepee where it was very intimate and warm with the fire pit in the middle. The audience were very welcoming and although most of them were either from abroad or areas outside of Wales they were very appreciative of my Welsh songs and were singing along to the English songs that they knew. After a really late night on Saturday I slept in on Sunday and woke up to a lovely warmth in the tent from the sun. After getting slightly burnt in the sun I had the honor of playing a couple of songs and having an interview on the main stage in the afternoon as a promo for the evening set.
Watching the sun go down whilst playing a Welsh language set was truly the best way to close the festival. The campers were genuinely nice people, the organizers and staff were really welcoming and always willing to help or offer a hand when needed. All in all it was a great experience and I would gladly do it all over again. x
